Pretty On The Speedway is a five-piece band from Sydney. In 2009 they release their debut EP ‘Hand Held’. What started in 2008 as an experimental sound swap between guitarists Cat Clare and Ben Hay, quickly grew into a full band with Keith Herft joining on Bass/Keys and Andrew Day on drums. They became Pretty On The Speedway when Frankie Leto grabbed the mic, and have been crafting catchy, colourful songs since. Pretty On The Speedway play indie pop rock; layered soundscapes with a driving melody and playful lyrics in the shadows of Arcade Fire, Ambulance Ltd, Doves, My Morning Jacket and You Am I. Produced by the band and Tim Carr (Soviet Records), ‘Hand Held’ is a starting point for the live show hitting Sydney at the moment, with plans to bring those sounds to stages all over the east coast of Australia throughout the second half of 2009.
