Formed in 1980 in the ferment of early-80s political and industrial underground music, Problemist has spent over four decades refusing to settle into a single sound or subject. Across the band's 64 albums, Davenport's songwriting has moved fluidly between confrontational political satire, and cut-up experimentation, narrative concept records, and unflinching personal confessionals.
