Proverbia is three blokes playing funk ("jazz's deformed cousin", thank you, Noel Fielding) because they can't play jazz without concentrating *real* hard. Harry sings, plays the violin (!) and the keys. JD plays bass and wails in the background (when we let him), and the good looking one (Nige) sits at the back and makes the other two look like amateurs on their instruments. That's right. No guitar. Mostly because all the guitarists ran away when they heard JD and Nige playing odd times (7/8 anyone?) or when we threw things at them when they went to *air bunnys* solo *end air bunnys*. We like to listen to mostly everything, but you'll hear the main influences pretty obviously (unless you don't know them, or are totally and completely tone deaf) - James Brown, Jamiroquai, Dave Matthews Band, Red Hot Chili Peppers, that kind of gear.
