Proximity Effect is the brainchild of dubstep DJ/producer Matt ‘Trifle’ George - a traditionally trained musician (classical pianist & drummer of 10+ years), with a bachelor degree in music technology & audio engineering. With this unique background, he’s set about straying away from clichéd formulas in search of a sound he could definitively call his own. Based in Perth, Western Australia, and armed with a distinctive and hard-hitting sound, Proximity Effect is turning heads for all the right reasons. With an alternative, darker, tech-inspired interpretation of dubstep – somewhat reminiscent of drum & bass and tearout breaks – he’s certainly leaving his mark in more ways than one.
