Prufrock is an indie pop-rock band based in the Menai area of Sydney’s Sutherland Shire. The band was established in January 2020, by singer, guitarist and producer Jackson Hunter, and drummer Cadel Francis. On November 6, 2020, they released their debut EP 'Real Life', featuring songs with lyrics inspired by their experiences over the twelve months prior to its release, particularly during the COVID-19 lockdown. In December 2020, the band recruited guitarist Nathan Hastings, however, in February 2021, Jackson Hunter decided to leave Prufrock to focus on his solo project ‘vir7ual’, instead. In April 2021, the new Prufrock lineup was announced, with Sarah Gerun joining as the band’s new singer and keyboard player, and Stuart Burgess joining as the band’s bassist. On July 2, 2021, the first single of the new Prufrock era, ‘Time Machine’ was released, which maintains a similarly synth heavy instrumental to the songs on the ‘Real Life’ EP.
