Psychic 5 formed in late 2014 for a tribute show for PJ Harvey's "To Bring You My Love", and have been gigging throughout Melbourne since. With all members joining the band from such diverse musical backgrounds, what had started out as a slowcore outlet for songwriter Dougie (The Sunset Club, ex-Screamfeeder) has evolved into a dark alt-country band reminiscent of the Dirty Three and The Panics. Guitarist/Vocalist Paddy's (ex-Oh Pep!, ex-Mustered Courage) input has shaped the songs dramatically since starting the band. Psychic 5 launched their EP in October 2016, playing with ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead's Conrad Keely. The EP was recorded by the band and mixed/mastered by High Tension's Mike Deslandes (Cosmic Psychos, The Nation Blue, Have/Hold).
