Hailing from Dunedin, New Zealand, Ragged brings together five band members with various musical influences, culminating in an eclectic yet cohesive sound. Their soulful melodies float seamlessly over skanking rhythms, complimented by infectious riffs. With a unique sound that combines elements of reggae, rock, and pop, Ragged’s sound has been likened to Ocean Alley and Fat Freddy’s Drop. Ragged initially formed in 2011, honing their song-writing skills and live performances by entertaining the students of Otago University at flat parties and local bars. As Ragged’s fan base grew, so did their gigs, with the band playing shows with NZ legends Katchafire and Che Fu and international acts such as Foreigner, Ocean Alley and Three Dog Night. Ragged’s music has been well received across the world, culminating in over a million streams on their songs.
