Rainbow Junk are a four-piece psychedelic rock funk outfit. A creative blend of imaginative lyrics and blistering guitar solos over groovy bass lines and funky Japanese drumming. The band formed in 2006 from within the surreal walls of “The Ghetto,” an infamous building of music, mania, and art standing on Newcastle beach. Their first shows were described as "seas of madness” featuring beautiful displays of naked stage dancing and expressive audience epiphanies. Soon after emerging locally, Rainbow Junk embarked on a musical adventure through Canada and America. Residing in Hollywood, the masses of washed up trannie pseudo-fellows, iced-up gay porn actors, strippers and coffin entrepreneurs had a profound influence on the group’s emerging sounds. Lapping up the freak flag waves of freedom, the band soaked their spirit in this soul detergent transforming everything they had once known.
