RAN/RUN is born from a world that's maybe just a little too big. RAN/RUN is Pete Jones and Ryan Walsh, who two years ago starting putting together material written during their travels in South America. Influenced as much by the manic Brazilian soul of artists like Jorge Ben Jor as the addled funk-rock of Italians like Loredana Berte. Throw in a healthy respect for the tech smarts of Timbaland and the sweet melancholy of AM-classicists like Elton John then you come close to approximately their sometimes disorientating sound. The first single from Ran/Run's forthcoming summer EP, Revolutionary is a glorious tropical rainstorm combining a fragrant widescreen sensibility with neon latin crazy. Evoking the sweaty nights of a sensual exile, the music takes us on a journey through a equatorial dystopia, across imaginary borderlands, over mountains crowded by day-glo slums and glittering ivory cities, searching always for that perfect place in the sand.
