BORDERS by RAWNCHI BORDERS is shouting out on the plight of refugees displaced round the world and is the first single release from RAWNCHI’s debut album. Aren Syren-Strong on vocals and Lesa Godden on guitars, have headed up The RAWNCHI Band since 2015, travelling through the original all-girl line-up, to the seasoned mixed power-house it is today. With an eclectic range spanning rock, blues and dance-grooves, Aren and Lesa are now joined as RAWNCHI by Steve Dixon, Australian ghost drummer extraordinaire, seasoned bassman Bobbe Thornton and the magical keys of Scott Leslie. BORDERS was recorded and produced by Geoff Wright at LUCKY BOY ANALOGUE STUDIOS in Byron Bay, as the first release on Aren & Lesa’s IRONSPIRIT label. Based on a groove initiated in the studio by RAWNCHI guest guitarist and harpist, Paul Withers, BORDERS was written before the COVID challenge, the song calls out recognising our privilege if we have a home, and to have compassion for others whose safe haven is
