Razors of Ockham is a little indie duo out of Melbourne, comprised of Jess and Michael whom, after having played extensively together in other heavier bands, decided to branch out and create something more laid back, deconstructed and different. The outfit serves as an antithetical side project and as the name Razors of Ockham suggests, the sound and philosophy is simple - attempting to strike at the backbone of previous writings from this duo. It cuts deep into the flesh of folk, dark blues and deconstructed rock - leaving the listener with a duality of warmth and space, the music and approach is honest with acknowledgments to both new and old worlds. These guys have been stomping around the Melbourne local scene, playing boutique shows since 2010 and road testing their sound with a residency playing to vagabonds at an Oakland speakeasy in California.
