Red Huxley is raw guitars, raw vocals, loud crashing drums and high energy with a bluesy soul. The Cape Town trio; with Dylan Jones on guitar & vocals, Matthew Pullen on bass & backing vocals, and Murray Stephenson on drums, have been gigging around the Mother City since 2010 after the release of their 4 track EP (a prize they won to record at the Cape Town Red Bull Studios after winning the Loeries Battle of the bands). With a lighter garage blues side similar to early Black Keys and late 60’s Stones records to a much heavier rock sound reminiscent of Led Zeppelin, Foo Fighters, and Queens of the Stone Age, Red Huxley’s sound is difficult to place within a single genre but the band likes to think of it as good old fashioned rock n roll - loud and dirty, plain and simple. Red Huxley started out jamming in a squashed bedroom where three guys discovered their sound.
