Perth musician Michael Tyrie is Reverse Engine Ear. Since mid 2009, REE has been Michael’s avenue to display his song writing and production prowess. Before this latest venture, he was the principal songwriter for Team Sport, who received a fair amount of attention in their short existence. This gave Michael more and more confidence in his abilities and last year, saw him step out on stage alone… Inspired by artists experimenting with advancements in music technology, REE embraces new possibilities. Though his songs are usually initiated through guitar or piano, Michael's long term interest has been the use of new technologies as alternative song writing tools and also as a means to enhance recordings and live performances. Now in 2010, a demo has been self-recorded and self-produced, and the talented Brad Wetherall (singer/songwriter, The City Watch) has joined Michael to help realise Reverse Engine Ear on stage.
