Rich Black is the project of Melbourne guitarist and singer-songwriter Rich Blackam. Heavily guitar oriented with flavours covering a broad gamut from rock through grunge to blues including a few unexpected sidebars, Rich's writing covers a lot of territory. Rich has described his art as ‘kind of a screenplay about the supernatural, science, history and human frailty’ and close scrutiny of the lyrics might support this hypothesis, or not! Rich’s musical background included bands such as Plantopia, The Matricks, Razers, Fyre and the art-grunge band Far Away Pencils. A prolific writer, he reckons he has a few years backlog of material.
