Hey, my name's Richard Sallis. I live in Adelaide, South Australia. At the moment I'm probably best known for being the frontman of the indie rock group Stock Exchange. I also lend my vocals to the international collective Civik Parc. And now after years of umming and erring, I'm finally doing the solo artist thing. My music often leads people to believe I'm a sad person. That couldn't be further from the truth. On the contrary, I'm usually an upbeat jokester who doesn't take very much seriously. I guess that's because I reserve most of my negative energy for songwriting, so when I'm having a bad day (we all do from time to time) I can at least do something productive. Because of this, my songs can get quite sad and dark. I figure it's more rewarding crying into song than crying into people's faces, because at least people can relate to it afterwards.
