RipThePetals is a Brisbane solo project that grew out of the early emo rap SoundCloud scene. After building a name off raw, vulnerable tracks, the sound shifted. Less 808s, more distortion. Now it leans into the weight and haze of shoegaze, inspired by bands like Whirr and Nothing, with some of Wisp’s softness still lingering underneath. The emotion hasn’t changed. It’s still honest and exposed, just louder, heavier, and wrapped in reverb.
