Hours after meeting, Ben Bay and Jaz Slinger sang together for the first time by the bank of the Bobo River in the Coffs Harbour hinterland. They haven’t stopped since. A duo born from a mutual love of songs from times past, their music forges an original sound inspired by the song-writing craftsmanship of Dylan, harmonic styling of the Everly Brothers, moody guitar tones of The Shadows, and the vocal fusing of Johnny Cash and June Carter. Riverbed Bloomers weave honeyed harmonies through poetic bush ballads, alt-country stompers, roaring sea shanties and modern Western seeped in sorrow.
