BETTER LATE THAN NEVER. I've dabbled in songwriting over the years. It's something I'm always thinking about, but for one reason or another, I've never finished a song until now. "Doin" is one of the first songs I started writing more than 10 years ago. The back story is that a good friend of mine, Dave Turner, had written a song on guitar and I really liked the fingerpicking technique. I was obsessed with learning the guitar from my mates at the time, so I learnt the song and then wrote the chords for "Doin". In the years that followed, my friends and I would occasionally sing the chorus on a drunken night, but that's all it had. It lay dormant for the better part of a decade, then a few years ago I headed to Melbourne with the aim of recording some of my songs.
