2022 has seen Rolanoid reach #1 on the Reverbnation EDM chart for Queensland and #3 on the National Australia chart. Featuring alongside Daft Punk, U2 and The Chemical Brothers on the stylish BBC TV series Dreamspaces soundtrack in 2003, Rolanoid exploded a few years later on MySpace with the infectious "Freaky Drum" landing him in the top 5 alongside major dance artists Paul Van Dyk, Basement Jaxx and Moby and attracting over 16 000 fans as well as rave comments from Utah Saints, Mark Moore, Etienne De Crecy & Mike Koglin which soon brought several record labels offering to sign Rolanoid. As a teenager Michael Dodds desire to make electronic music was sparked by hearing bands such as Depeche Mode, Kraftwerk and New Order. Immersing himself in an ever-growing collection of second-hand synthesizers and beatboxes, he later adopted the name Rolanoid in reverence to his early electronic music gear including the now legendary Roland TR-808 drum machine.
