Roles is a music duo and art project based in Melbourne Australia. Describing their music as post-punk and post-pop, their minimalist sound is built around a fuzz of synths, drum machine and sparse abrasive guitar; all lit by stirring vocals. Roles make song lyrics using interviews, lectures and other recordings. The words are made into lyrics using a process of collage. Songs are fleshed-out using a limited selection of digital and analogue instruments.
