This is a ROOTS, ROCK STEADY, SKA, PUNK REGGAE band – original, with style! Based on the Gold Coast, we formed this band in late 2006. This is not a traditional reggae band ! ROOTS ABOVE GROUND delivers a style of reggae that is hard and dirty with that two tone style, influenced by the bands that have set the standard for that true skanking sound. All four of us have played in other bands before, from punk and blues, to rock and ska. Our music comes from life experiences and from those around us, the ups and downs of life! With a sweet number of gigs been played and booked through our agent , B-J Hemmling CHERRY RED MUSIC and through our own perseverance we are starting to build a strong reputation! Our list of venues we have conquered include – The Zoo, The Shire, The Step Inn, The Jubilee, The X & Y Bar, The Del Plaza, The Shark Bar, The Ballina Hotel, The Bellingin Hotel just to name a few. We also played at last years ISLAND VIBES FESTIVAL 2008. We have also played support
