Growing up in Middlesbrough, England, music has always been a huge part of Rory’s life. Playing guitar, drums and piano from an early age, Rory first caught the bug for music production when he borrowed a 4-track recorder from a mate at school. Towards the end of high school, Rory was playing at venues and festivals across England as the lead singer of a math-rock band, sharing stages with the likes of Lanterns on the Lake and Jamie Woon. Under the moniker ‘Rory and the Reverie’, 29-year old Rory Duffy has been making smooth indie-pop music from his bedroom studio in Sydney, Australia, since mid-2020. With two singles under his belt, Rory has already caught the attention of BBC Introducing tastemakers with a track of the week accolade and live radio session on BBC Tees. On November 26th 2021, Rory and the Reverie releases Boomerang, a song about winning someone back who you never should have pushed away.
