“A joyous and exuberantly tinny bit of speed punk” – NME “Like getting a slap in the face from the hottest girl in school then going back for more because you like her that much. Sharp, spiky, sexy, shuddering stuff” – THE FLY “RTP at their infectious, vitriolic, poppy punk best” – ORGAN ….. just a small selection of the overwhelmingly positive press picked up by Royal Treatment Plant in advance of the release of their single ‘Undercurrent’, taken from the pop-punk outfit’s debut album Hope Is Not Enough . Legendary producer Mike Chapman [Blondie’s Parallel Lines] was so taken with the DIY demo of lead single "undercurrent" after hearing the track on influential U.S. radio station KROQ (where the track has been a fixture on the evening playlist), that he approached the band via their Myspace and requested the tapes be sent over to his studio in New York so that he could work on a mix of the track. The result is three and a half minutes of pure, unadulterated pop-rock perfection.
