Aussie boy made good, Rupert Guenther trained as a concert violinist in Vienna and after some years playing in operas and orchestras in Europe and Australia, went back to Oz to play guitar in bar bands in St Kilda for a while. On the side he worked as an orchestra violinist with Olivia Newton-John, Anthony Warlow & John Farnham, was electric violinist in Demis Roussos' band and even toured Austria with Tobias Moretti (the original hansom cop guy in Inspector Rex) in a production of Peter And The Wolf, and played gigs with many of the creme of the Melbourne session muso scene. He became an original artist "overnight" in 2003 and has exclusively done his own thing evermore, independently releasing 25 albums of his original music since then, spanning classical CDs for ABC Classic FM, world music, ambient meditation music, rock and experimental music. All his music is virtually 100% improvised although he occasionally reproduces repertoires and CDs in concert "just for fun"...and
