Rusty Falcon was formed as a solo outlet for local singer/songwriter/guitarist Troy Smith in 2017 releasing 2 solo eps before recruiting Tim Leo onto the drum stool and Jarred Perryman on bass to fill out the rhythm section. The act morphed into a rocking 70s style 3 piece rock/blues band. With this new energy the band recorded 8 tracks at the Salt studios in Melbourne in April 2021 and released the lead off singles and videos for “Asking for a friend” in September, “Rattlesnake kiss” in October and “Lethal brand” in late November. These and 5 other rocking tracks are captured on the the new album “Taste the salt” slated for release December 1st. Troy cites Tom Petty, Bob Dylan and Paul Kelly as his songwriting influences with the band channeling Midnight Oil, Angels with a splash of rock boogie. The bands heart lies in its original music as Rusty Falcon continues to passionately write, rehearse and record songs and videos, check the lads out.
