After releasing his critically acclaimed debut EP 'Read My Mind' in 2009, Ryan relocated from Queensland to Melbourne. Murphy made a name for himself in Melbourne not just as a musician, he has also written and directed his own short film, tried his hand at acting, worked for Gillette as a sport reporter and even taken the stage as a stand up comic. “If you’re a creative person, you shouldn’t feel bound to one craft. Some days I want to write emotive music, other days I want to make immature jokes. It all has to come out somehow”. He is currently traveling around America, working on his latest project "last year on earth" (lastyearonearth.org). He is living a year like it was his last, writing an album along the way.
