Starting halfway through 2008, RYUK started writing tunes for not much more than something to do. After entering heat 1 in the Northern Sound System battle of the bands, the band not only came out first place, but were also asked to play Swinefest 08 and Elizapalooza. With Swinefest a huge success, and Elizapalooza still to come, RYUK are looking at a hopeful future in the Australian metal scene.
