Sally T grew up in the Torres Straits in far North Queensland. The granddaughter of Ina Mills of the Mills Sisters, Sally found early musical inspiration in watching her grandmothers perform and harmonize. She decided at an early age that she wanted to write songs and sing for people too. Her love of travel took her to Canada where she began performing in a variety of musical acts from funk bands to folk duos, in cities and small towns, from theatres and clubs to street corners across the country. She now shares her time between Australia and Canada. Sprinkled with improvised jazz scats and beat-boxing, Sally T's disarming performance will pull an audience in to participate. Her lyrics, inspired by natural beauty and the human condition, move between poetically raw and playfully sweet, and are often delivered with a cheeky smile.
