Hailing from Melbourne, Australia, Same Day formed when friends Kylie (vocals) and Tommo (guitar) began writing songs together in 2016. They released their debut EP Mon Cherie the following year. The acoustic offering was received enthusiastically by the Melbourne music community, with fans calling it "bloody amazing" and praising the group's "grassroots talent." With the addition of Vlad on bass in 2018, Same Day expanded their palette and began composing new songs. Creating music that often delved into mental health issues, Tommo explains, "I've always felt if you can’t talk about it, try writing it down. That’s how writing songs for me started to come about." Now after releasing their second EP Better Off, Same Day is excited to reveal their updated sound. The EP was produced by Damian Cafarella at EOR Studio; it maintains the soulful realism of Mon Cherie, now with a full rhythm section turning up the energy.
