Another music duo out from Sydney’s Inner West? We’re sorry but yes…. But this time its Bedroom grooves, creamy synths and dodgy dance-moves. The Sydney duo John Bilsel and Michael Kuhle have been pondering on the idea for a funk, synth heavy bedroom project for years, which has finally arrived in the form of Sangria. Sangria kicked off in 2022 initially with DJ sessions at local venues, writing beats in bedroom studios and revisiting love-songs written years back. The duo has spent hours crafting a sound that balances new electronic flavours with classic grooves with influences from artists such as First Biege, Tom Misch, Parcels, KESMAR, I Know Leopard and Ginger Root. Something that brought this project together with ease was Mikey and Jono’s passion for the same types of music, ranging from 70s Disco to newer age future groove.
