Hailing from Sydneys southern beaches, Second Skin have been playing around the city and suburban pubs since late 99, becoming part of the furniture at their local "the Bizzos" in Caringbah, building up a devoted local following. A loud guitar driven 5 piece, they have supported diverse artists such as Jim Moginie and the Family Dog, Hirst and Greene, Betchadupa, The Camels, Paul Greene, Even, Screamfeeder, Peabody, Starky, Youthgroup, 78 Saab, Nunchukka Superfly, Deborah Conway and about a gazillion other bands. With the girl out front vocals ranging from in your face to soft and sincere, and the 4 boys at the back providing a soundtrack to jump up and down to, Second Skin have their own sound going and like to keep it that way. They have their musical heroes like any band and you may be reminded of those influences in some of their tracks but they're not into plagiarizing or following the latest musical trends and still believe integrity in music should have a high importance.
