September Barker is a singer-songwriter from the outer north-eastern suburbs of Melbourne. These days he travels the world with his clothes stuffed into a guitar case, writing and performing folk/country tunes in obscure but serene places. With a background in theatre-making, Barker's music has a signature storytelling and immersive quality, with almost every project becoming some kind of concept album. His highly anticipated upcoming album 'Springtime' follows the journey of a young person in 2020: Moving out of home and starting a garden, falling in love, falling in with the wrong crowd, getting paranoid, fearing God, finding his garden has died, longing for his mother, reflecting on the cost of it all, and finally starting anew.
