Settling are an indie-pop five-piece from Brisbane, Australia. Settling started in 2012 as the solo project of Brisbane singer-songwriter Tim Swanston. After collaborating with local vocalist/guitarist Kurtis Tupangaia, the duo made their debut into the Brisbane live music scene, backed by their trusty laptop. Deciding that they needed to flesh out their sound, they added local musicians Jonathan Hickey, Becky Meimaris and Andrew Markwell. This addition led to a change in musical direction, taking their acoustic-led folk songs into a heavier, poppier sound. Although young in their current formation, Settling are already making waves in both the local music scene, and internationally.
