Edit history

Shady Lane began as a laptop-based solo project in Jordy Lane’s bedroom. In 2009 he signed with Rice Is Nice Records and upon releasing the debut album Here We Go, Down The Black Hole he formed a live band to translate the electronic-pop project to the stage. The album was well received by radio and music blogs, the launch was sold-out and the band toured with Youth Group, theredsunband, Deep Sea Arcade and a support slot for The Books (NYC). 2012 saw the release of their second album Built Guilt. This time the computer elements were replaced with analogue synths, organs, circuit-bent toys, live drums and louder, prouder, playful guitars. Built Guilt’s ingredients include healthy levels of cynicism and a kitschy quirk, beautifully crafted pop, twisted just slightly. Another sold-out album launch, a singing with Village Sounds booking, a packed Oxford Art Residency, interstate shows. Shady Lane are ready to play.
