Born and raised in Israel, Shahar is an Iraqi-Polish hybrid with a nomadic soul. Her music - a fusion of acoustic, soul, and indie rock - revolves around identity politics, conflict, contradictions, and the balance of inner darkness and light. Shahar uses the vehicle of songwriting to transform human turmoil into unmasked beauty. She tells stories through her songs by exploring the complexity of the human condition through voice, emotion, presence and courageous honesty.
