Shimmer are a Sydney based 4 piece original band, combining world music and folk-groove in a musical feast of three-part harmonies, swirling flute duets, atmospheric panpipes and a mixture of djembe and percussive instruments. Shimmer are proud to announce the upcoming release of their studio album ‘Beautiful World’, a collection of original tunes that feature multiple layers of instruments unfolding beautiful vocal melodies. Over the last 6 years, Shimmer has performed live extensively, both at Sydney music venues and at most of Australia’s leading festivals including Woodford Folk Festival, Wollombi Festival, Blue Mountains Winter Magic Festival, and fundraising events for the Wilderness Society, Palm Sunday Peace Rally and Rock the Block in Redfern. They are currently booked for Peats Ridge New Year Festival 2006/7.
