It wasn't a break-up — nothing like that — but for a while there Shiny Brights found themselves drifting apart. Side projects, full-time jobs, world travel, the panoply of growing up and life: it all just got in the way. Then there was the exhaustion and crippling financial strain of actually making music. After seven years together, it looked like the end was nigh for one of Adelaide's most beloved indie rock bands. But they refrained from throwing in the towel. And ever the pragmatists, they decided that perhaps a change in approach and attitude was in order.
