SHIVA are a Melbourne based goth/post-punk band with heavy guitars and dancey beats. SHIVA is comprised of; Jarvis (vocals, synth, drum programming), Jet (Bass, Vocals), and Sam (Guitar, SFX). Sam and Jarvis met one afternoon at Weekenderfest at the Corner Hotel, and instantly started bonding over music. Later, Jet and Jarvis met at a house party and after discovering that Jet played Bass, we agreed to keep in touch and form a band at some point. After the disbanding of Sam’s band HP and the hiatus of Jarvis’ band UZUMAKI, they decided to start jamming together. They then struck upon a spooky sound that influenced them both to start writing songs inspired by the 80's post-punk and darkwave scene. They contacted Jet, and SHIVA was concieved. Their first two songs, Seance // Candlewax, were written spontaniously in Jarvis’ basement. Their good friend Ben (of Panda Rosa) stepped in to record and produce these songs in his makeshift bedroom studio in Ashburton. SHIVA's latest single,

Shiva
Bio history
Australian newcomers Shiva are seeking to change the DNA of metal around the globe. Not seeking to reinvent the wheel necessarily, the band's blend of nu-metal, deathcore, and metalcore influences all meet on a collision course of destruction Straight from the heart of Sydney, Shiva's music hints at something heavier and more sinister, yet there's enough catchy choruses to have a wider-ranging appeal. Changes in speed and tempo seemingly come out of nowhere, they're aiming to take the scene by storm. If you like moshing and heavy riffs, you've come to the right place. Already having been spun by the likes of Lochlan Watt at Triple J and Hysteria Mag, who said that Shiva are "about to become an incredibly notable name in terms of Australian metal", the sky is the limit. Just one listen to their 2021 full-length Planet Eater will confirm the high praise they've received. The evolution has begun.
