ARIA award nominated producer Forrester Savell (Dead Letter Circus, Karnivool, Shihad) and multi instrumentalist, writer, vocalist Mitchell Jon shift gears on their respective creative courses to coalesce as Signata, a powerhouse project two years in the making. With the offering of their debut track Time’s On Fire comes an initiation to the duo’s finely tuned yet explorative sound that invokes the nostalgia of Massive Attack and Portishead, collects traces of Alt J and Glass Animals on its way through to conquer new ground in the current soundscape. On first listen, Time’s On Fire reveals itself as a stormy, ethereal incantation that unfolds across swooning verses, and on subsequent visits, leads you through a labyrinth of sophisticated, mesmerizing layers to pose the lyrical question, “Did you lose yourself?” Paired with a pulsing, psychedelic music video, Signata’s maiden voyage of sound and vision is a spellbinding ride.
