Silent Disco is a Melbourne Indie pop electro band formed in early 2012. The band consists of producing team Carlos Tomich (DJ Anonymous), Pete Gatt and Chris Meiring, fronted by the two singers Gareth Martin-Cox and Sophia Kato. Pete and Carlos had both been performing in numerous rock bands over the last 6 years and met while Carlos booked their band at his old nightclub event "music". After their previous rock endeavors ended they wanted to create DJ style music while incorporating it into a live element and thus created Silent Disco. The Name "Silent-Disco" comes from when Carlos and Pete were having their first band rehearsal and their neighbors complained within the first 10 minutes, and Pete suggested they practice with a headphone splitter and rehearse like a "Silent-Disco". The Band was originally called Anonymous but changed their name due to miss-association with the Hacker group.
