Ok, heads up: not the traditional ‘musician’. Part satire, definitely gospel, rap-rock fusion, singer/songwriter. From my early teens I always wanted to write songs but it took me a long time to have the confidence to try. I love when a melody drops into my head when I’m out in the water. Where’s that going? Performed through the rapper-parody: Skito, a character created in 2010 for a children’s show, my early songs gently leaned toward family audiences. It wasn’t long before more mature themes and songs emerged and I started working toward an album. Then came the Israel Folau saga. The issues surrounding Folau, including free speech, tolerance and corporate hypocrisy affect us all. “Out On My Erse” was definitely a song that chose me.
