Formed in a Sydney share house in 2014, Sleepy quickly found their footing with a hazy, melodic take on indie guitar pop, playing wherever they could — house shows, pubs, and half-set-up DIY spaces around the inner west. Across a string of EPs, singles and a 7”, Sleepy refined their sound before releasing their debut album New Shanghai Night — full of jangly guitars, warm melodies, and introspective lyrics that come together as hook-driven outsider anthems. Now preparing to release their second album, Sleepy return with new single “Clean Clothes”, leaning into the melodic suburban indie rock that first shaped them, driven by intertwined vocal harmonies and nostalgic guitar tones.
