SLIM GRITTY Australian singer songwriter and musician, Slim Gritty is no stranger to gigs and festivals both home and abroad. Slim draws heavily on the timeless energy of the roots Americana/Country genre. In particular Rockabilly and the styles of Honky Tonk, Hillbilly, R&B and Blues that merged to create its initial spark. Using these root genres as a foundation he builds compositions adding his own original creative spark, with crafted lyrical stories that have a present day relevance, sometimes poignant, sometimes funny, sometimes sad, always gritty. Slims debut album ‘Movin On Down The Line’ was released late 2019 to much acclaim amongst his peers. Featuring the singles digitally released from this album: - 'Another Man', ‘Gringo’ and ‘One More Chance’. In late 2021 Slim released his Roots Country/Hillbilly EP entitled ‘Lil’ Bit Country’. He augmented the pared back Rockabilly style of his previous album by adding Fiddle, Banjo, Mandolin and vocal harmonies. The first single from the EP, the rich romantic roots Country ballad ‘One More Kiss' enjoyed worldwide airplay upon its release in late 2020. He then followed up with what has been described as a Hillbilly Requiem, ‘Heading Towards the Sun’. This track garnered even more worldwide airplay including three Nashville stations. Maybe due to its somewhat unique nature ‘Heading Towards The Sun’ not only found support with a Country/Americana audience, with Europe in particular it garnered at least an equal proportion of support from Indy Radio. Slim now in mid 2022 is intending to launch his previously unreleased title track from his earlier 'Movin On Down The Line' album. Coinciding with this release to add to his rich repertoire, he also releasing an Americana song with a plea for action on climate change, entitled "Monkey Trap" All of Slims music can be either downloaded and or CD's purchased via his web site slimgrittyrock.com And also available on all streaming services
