Consisting of two Year 12 VCE students (as of 2016) and their teacher, Sloppy Chops takes a considerable amount of inspiration from American 'Brasshouse' groups which are beginning to surface amidst the music industry. 'Brasshouse' is a blend of modern dance music and funk, all whilst using unconventional methods of playing the instrument. Through a mixture of repetitive bass lines, complex rhythms, and an overall aggressive attack to how we play, 'Brasshouse' is a genre we hope to make a contribution to, and help give it recognition in places outside of the United States. We started at the beginning of 2016 in order to meet the requirements of one of Year 12 courses, and have since developed a chemistry which we wish to harness and keep after the year finishes.
