Based in Melbourne/Naarm, alternative group Society of Beggars was formed by brothers Yianni and Dimitrios Michalopoulos (vocals and guitar) alongside Tom ‘Dibi’ Di Biase (drums) and Zoë Alexa (bass), earning a notorious reputation as one of Australia’s most energetic, visceral, and uncompromising live rock acts. Following heavy national touring and global airplay for standout singles like 'God Mode' and 'Dance The Evil,' the band followed up their acclaimed early chapters with the cinematic weight of their 2024 debut full-length album, "Levitator." Now, Society of Beggars return on Friday, 18 September with "I Want I Want," the raw, blistering lead single from their upcoming 10-track independent album, "Drunk on Love, Buried in Dust." "‘I Want I Want’ is our snotty, punk-rock ode to the modern consumerist doom-loop," says frontman Yianni Michalopoulos. "We wanted it to feel volatile and dense, with an ending that captures the total sensory overload that we’re all living with daily."
