I used to always believe I was destined to be an athlete. It wasn’t until I was diagnosed with a rare childhood disease that had me incapacitated for a few years that I made the switch to music. During these years I was barred from using the playground during school lunches, so I remember sneaking into the hall to play the organ where I would be sitting with the stupidest grin on my face as I composed these little tunes. I joined my first proper band when I was around 13, we were an indie/garage rock group called Old Kent Rd. We played a few local shows which were mainly organised through our school and after school programs. The following year, I joined another band called Chasing Fate. We ended up supporting some big acts at the time such as Behind Crimson Eyes, After the Fall and Kid Courageous to name a few.
