Sondrine is a French-born Australian singer, musician and composer based in Brisbane, Queensland. With a style best described as 'electro-orchestral', Sondrine’s songs and instrumentals deliver intensely emotional melodies and chord progressions, combining electronic sounds, drum programming and loops with piano and orchestral strings. Sondrine was born in Aubagne, France. Her family migrated to Australia when she was only four. Her parents' eclectic tastes in music—including Rodrigo's Concierto de Aranjuez, countless Ennio Morricone soundtracks, Jacques Brel's dramatic songs, the Moody Blues' Nights in White Satin and Wallace Collection's Daydream—seeded a love of haunting melodies underpinned by emotion-charged harmonic progressions. Sondrine began composing music at an early age and played in underground bands in Brisbane with her sister during her teen years in Brisbane. Moving to Sydney, Sondrine played keys and sang in indie-pop band, Five, which released the EP Life's Curse.
