The Sons of Stanhope, are a four piece gritty unique vintage rock band that reside in St kilda but derive from the Peninsula, formed in dec 2006, the Sons were a group of close high school mates. Vocalist and songwriter Alexander Richardsons had songs prepared from his first house back after travelling the world for four years on Stanhope st., The songs needed to be exposed like a high school flasher and gained the same sort or reaction from his band. Alex’s voice has a sound similar to that of the late Shirley Straun, Strong, Powerful and in your face and an incredible rythmic style guitar playing,, with the brother force of the sort after James Clayton on bass who has a very driving distinct style, the technical genius of Nathan Clayton on guitar and on drums Beetle Lethbrid’s highly punk influenced mania, The Sons have managed to shape a sound that is incredibly unique and completely its own sound, which is rare in this current rock world.
