Soundboy was formed in 2000,in the luscious lands of Taranaki Aotearoa.. Where the mountain meets the sea and the summer days are occupied by music, surf and good times. Playing in pubs through out the region Rob(fro) Phillips and Brendan(sparrow) Sandford gradually warmed to the idea of writing original material and recluse to the basement of Robs parents basement for the winter months. During this cold part of the year the boys came up with a treasure trove of slick beats and melodic guitar riffs in which they chose 8 of there best to proceed with recording at a local amateur studio. 9 months later they had there first self titled EP.
