southdown began writing music in 2002, while they were still at school. And, to be honest, it was pretty rubbish. The key to the survival of the band was its ability to grow, adapt and innovate their sound. Fast forward to 2011, the boys have once again grown - adding lead guitarist Ian Parker. With this growth comes a completely new sound, blending the creative backdrop of samples and synths that had added finish to the sound of the last 5 years with a wall of delicious guitar goodness. And it always goes down smooth. In November 2011, southdown released their debut album AWAITING LIGHT, which showcases this new sound. 2012 sees the band getting back to the stage for what they love doing most - enjoy.
